Did you know? Thanks to his constant popularity and ever persuasive charms, Diamond
Unbreakable’s very own manga artist, Rohan-Sensei, has his own manga! Entitled, Rohan at the Louvre, this supernatural mystery was officially published in the English language back in 2012 and is to die for with its stunning illustrations and beautiful storyline. In the graphic novel, our young manga artist meets a mysteriously beautiful woman who tells him of a cursed 200-year-old painting as he is drawing his newest work. The painting turns out to have been made from the blackest ink ever to have existed, and was acquired from a 1,000-year-old tree. The painter had cut the tree down for the ink after without permission from the Emperor, and so was executed for his crime. Before the painting could be destroyed, a curator from the Louvre saved the piece before it was too late. Now, a decade later, after having heard the story, Rohan arrives in Paris and makes his way to the Louvre. He asks the museum to locate and unearth the mysterious painting from its archives. Little does he know that he’s about to unleash a violent and powerful curse from the confines of history that would have been better off kept hidden away forever.
Hirohiko does it again with this masterpiece, and while it may take place before Rohan’s entrance in the Diamond Unbreakable arc of the JoJo franchise, it is a must read for all fans of Hirohiko’s works! If you would like a copy, visit the publisher’s website at nbmpub.com.
